Our Family
It is a good thing for us that first impressions aren’t everything. In college, Russ thought Kylee looked too young to consider dating, and she thought he was just a tall, skinny kid. Luckily for us, Kylee’s cousin was in Russ’ ward and she set us up on a double date. We quickly hit it off and haven’t had a day pass without talking to each other since then, even when we lived in different states while dating or on business trips, etc. One of the most incredible moments we shared was when we were sealed in the Seattle temple. There is nothing that can compare to it! Our son Caden joined our family about a year later, and he has brought so much joy, love and happiness into our lives. He has been such a huge blessing and miracle. As we have struggled to have more children, we realize even more how much of a miracle he is to us. We have been through some amazing times together and some heart breaking times, but they have all served to strengthen our relationship and love for each other.
As a family, we love to go camping, hiking, and rock-climbing. We also love to do puzzles, play games and dance in the family room. We are all ticklish and often have times when we are all laughing together. We both served Spanish speaking missions, and so we are teaching Caden to speak Spanish as well. He has picked up on it very well and often surprises people when they hear a very fair “gringo” speaking Spanish.
Russ is a very social, fun-loving and committed person. Russ is always supportive of me in everything that I do and is always there to give me encouragement and support. He was willing to take a ballroom dance class with me, even though he wasn't naturally gifted with that talent. He is incredibly patient with others and is always positive. I love that he is so firmly rooted in the gospel and that he is my peacemaker. He is great at playing the piano. He proposed by writing me a song and singing it to me. He is very athletic and loves dirt biking, fly fishing, and ultimate frisbee. He excels at everything he does, including family life, callings in the church, and work. He values education and hard work, and always takes time to relax and play sports with Caden. He is an amazing father and constantly tells us how much he loves us. He loves home cooked food and playing games at home with the family. He was raised a gentleman and always opens the door for me where ever we go. He is a great help around the house with dishes, laundry and anything else that needs to get done. He is the biggest blessing I have ever received in my life and I feel so lucky to be sealed to him and look forward to spending eternity with him.
About Kylee by Russ
Kylee uplifts and inspires so many people. She is a very compassionate and sincere person. She enjoys making crafts for our home as well as cards to brighten the day of others. She loves capturing life’s most precious moments on the camera. Kylee loves the outdoors, whether camping, hiking, rock climbing or throwing a Frisbee. She also values education and is instilling this value in Caden by frequently reading him good books. She learned to value hard work growing up while helping her dad build decks, tile bathrooms, and assist on any other project he had going at the time. She is passionate about living the gospel and serving in the church. She loves the Savior and is eternally grateful for His sacrifice for each one of us. Her faith is strong and her commitment to the Lord is unwavering.
Kylee is an amazing person and is my eternal sweetheart. Here are some of the little things that I love about Kylee. A highlight of each day is when Kylee and Caden sing "We're so glad when Daddy comes home" and welcome me home with a kiss. One day I arrived home to find our bedroom door full of custom cut paper hearts with a little note on each of them. When it is necessary for me to travel for work, she always sends me with a daily love note and reminds to never peek ahead. Caden
Some of the best things in life come in small packages; this is the case with Caden. Caden is excited about adopting a baby, and frequently tells people about it. He is incredibly caring and sensitive to others around him. He often helps his friends when they are sad by giving them a toy or a hug. He loves cars, trains, books, and any type of ball. He loves going to the park, the library and the pool. He is a great helper in the kitchen and has made wonderful creations with flour. He is also great at decorating sugar cookies with a large dose of sprinkles. He always makes us laugh by the things he does and says. For instance, he says “snubee” (smoothie), pull-it bear (polar bear) and “tu hueles muy mal en tu garganta” (you have bad morning breath). He is fluent in Spanish and English. He is thrilled about being a big brother!
When we do adopt, we will make sure that the child knows how much you love him or her. It is important to us that they know this decision was made out of great love for them. We look forward to an open adoption so you can see them grow and develop. We are praying that you will make a decision that will bring you peace and joy for you and your baby.
